While chaplains may be a familiar part of many workplaces such as hospitals, assisted living centers, auto manufacturing plants and even large factories, Marketplace Chaplains are finding a receptive niche in less traditional workplaces, like candy factories, model train stores and even country clubs.

The country’s largest and original workplace chaplaincy organization has built a nearly 30-year reputation in serving dozens of banks, auto dealers, large food processors and quick-service restaurants.

Over the last few years, companies across the U.S. are using the strategic initiative of workplace chaplains in their small to medium-size companies.

“I’ve been the President of this company for many years and have always loved trains, but as we have grown, I wanted a way to take care of the employees and show people I care,” said Scott Griggs, Owner of Trainz.com, based in Atlanta, Georgia.

“I thought it would really be a benefit to employees to offer them personal care without having to be personally involved with every employee all the time.”

Country clubs primarily exist for the purpose of fun, recreation and bonding, but some private clubs in Texas, like the Northwood Club in Dallas, and Fort Worth’s Mira Vista Country Club, have found having chaplains helps with their day-to-day tasks.

“The chaplains have been very well received here because our people have a chance to talk with them and discuss their issue(s),” said Mira Vista Country Club Head Golf Professional, Courtney Connell, who had seen Marketplace Chaplains in a previous club he worked for in San Antonio.

“The chaplains have been great to be able to talk with my workers and help them in any way possible,” added Northwood Club Course Superintendent, Kevin Carpenter.

Companies as diverse as a large resort like the Biltmore Estate and Inn in Asheville, North Carolina, to Ghyslain Chocolatier, Inc., in Union City, Indiana, have found Marketplace Chaplains as a unique benefit to care for their employees and their family members.

“Having chaplains shows how I care for my employees,” said President Ghyslain Maurais.

Marketplace Chaplains currently serve in more than 23 different types of companies helping employees in more than 3,000 client company locations, in 44 states and 982 cities. More than 530,000 employees and their family members are now under this unique umbrella of care and compassion.

“Companies of all sizes, types and industries have found that utilizing trained and caring Marketplace Chaplains has made a huge difference in their most important bottom line, their employees,” said Richard S. De Witt, President and COO of Marketplace Chaplains.
