From U.S. Warfare to Workplace Battles: Chaplains Handle All Types of Conflicts

U.S. Military Academy at West Point graduate, Greg Duvall, has seen the stress, conflict and battle fatigue first-hand. As a helicopter pilot and Aviation Maintenance Officer for the U.S. Army, Duvall flew countless missions over Germany, Somalia, and worldwide danger zones.

But now, Duvall serves in the battle for the hearts and hurts of men and women in the workplace every day. He serves Marketplace Chaplains USA as a Division Director, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, charged with overseeing the workplace chaplaincy program operated at client company Gordon Foods.

“I am humbled and amazed that God has used me in this unique service to him,” said Duvall, who still wears his West Point ring. I am serving in a way I never knew existed, but I’m so grateful He allowed me to serve so many heavy hearts and heart-felt hopes.

Marketplace Chaplains USA, based in Plano, Texas, is the country’s original and largest corporate chaplain organization serving more than 450 companies, all over the nation and in five foreign countries.

Duvall said he sees plenty of similarities between soldiers fighting in battle for the freedom of the world and workers battling to find freedom in their own lives at the workplace.

“We all need a helper and a care-giver on the battlefield and the workplace, and that’s what corporate chaplains do,” Duvall said.
