“The best way to care for people is to develop meaningful relationships . . .”
We love being able to serve Ad Astra in Overland Park, Kansas. Jackie Shaver, Chief Culture Officer shares: “The best way to care for people is to develop meaningful relationships by engaging in regular interactions where people feel that they are known, loved, appreciated and cared for. This happens through formal and informal channels. The informal touchpoints are the backbone of a company’s culture; the note written to express appreciation or sympathy to a team member, the joke shared in the hallway or breakroom, the hug that is given for encouragement when tragedy strikes, the impromptu praise while passing a deserving team member or sharing a meal together. One scheduled touchpoint of care is the weekly Marketplace Chaplains’ visits. The regular weekly cadence of having someone there that consistently checks in with our staff gives our team the confidence of knowing that they have a listening ear or shoulder should they need it when the going gets tough.”
