The most recent FORTUNE Magazine “100 Best Companies to Work For ” list honors a pair of Houston, Texas, powerhouse companies that both use Marketplace Chaplains for their employees and their family members, further underscoring the trend of progressive companies using the strategic initiative of workplace chaplains.

David Weekley Homes, which began services with Marketplace Chaplains in 2003, was rated No. 13 nationally in the prestigious workplace satisfaction list. Hilcorp Energy, which began using Marketplace Chaplains in 2002, was ranked No.15th nationally.

“The FORTUNE Magazine award continues to recognize what we have all known for years, David Weekly Homes is a great place to work. It’s our culture; more importantly, our wonderful Winning Weekley Team and how we work together creates this great culture,” said Chairman of the Board David Weekley.

The home building company has chaplains serving in its Houston headquarters, homebuilding centers, and worksites across the nation, and has even used Marketplace Chaplains to help dedicate new homes.

“Winning this award is proof of each and every team member’s commitment to continue to make this such a wonderful place to work,” Weekley added.

This comes on the heels of Pioneer Natural Resources, another longtime Marketplace client company, being named as the second best place in North Texas to work by The Dallas Morning News. Pioneer Natural Resources VP Larry Paulsen said having the chaplains at his expanding company has been key to employee satisfaction in a competitive and often stressful industry. “In working with our field people, if I don’t hear anything, then everything is working well. This past year, I have had at least 10 calls or emails thanking me for making the chaplains available to help our people.”

Hilcorp Energy Founder, Chairman and CEO Jeff Hildebrand said having chaplains in his company has been an integral part of their success. “We are very appreciative of what they have done for us and how they have helped our team members,” he said.

Marketplace Chaplains currently has 2,818 chaplains working in 44 states, 959 cities, 22 international cities, serving in 3,098 client company locations in 23 different industry types, from family-owned to Fortune 500, in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, along with the U.K. and the commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

Marketplace Chaplains Executive President and COO Richard S. De Witt said the prestigious company awards are worthy of recognition for these forward thinking CEOs.

“We are certainly grateful that national organizations like FORTUNE Magazine have recognized these client companies who use Marketplace Chaplains to care for their most important business asset – their employees and family members.”
